Method Man was arrested on Thursday (May 17) in New York City for possession of 28 grams of marijuana. According to the New York Post, the rapper’s vehicle was stopped by police for having an expired inspection sticker as he passed through a toll booth to enter the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel. When Meth rolled down his window, Officer Donald Johnston smelled marijuana smoke and noticed some rolled blunts and baggies filled with marijuana in plain site. When questioned by the cop, he admitted to having more marijuana underneath his seat. The Staten Island native was taken into custody, and released on his own recognizance on Friday after being arraigned in Brooklyn Criminal Court.

So word started spreading a couple of days ago about a rumored collabo mixtape between Lil “Whoopi Goldberg Jr.” Wayne and Hurricane “Worlds Dumbest Criminal” Game. According to the buzz circulating, the two have started emailing each other tracks back and forth for a mixtape called “Blood Brothers.” I can’t wait for this mixtape, it’s going to be the most original thing since Gorilla Black (uhhhhhh).

Evergreen has reached an agreement with Afeni Shakur for them to be included in the development of a future remix album, and a movie script Pac had written while incarcerated. They will also take part in future albums by 2pac, as well as the book “Tupac Remembered”, an in-depth biography of the icon, with guest commentary.

“I believe that after 10 years I have done as much as I can on my own to further the creative aspect of Tupac’s music,” said Afeni. “I’m looking forward to working with Evergreen’s publishing and creative marketing teams to reach a more global market and to expand the opportunities for my son’s music.”

“Tupac was one of the most prolific songwriters that ever lived,” continued David Schulhof, co-CEO of Evergreen. “He had a tremendous impact both as a songwriter and social activist, and left behind a body of work that will forever attract generations of fans. We are honored to be working with Afeni Shakur and helping to realize the full potential of this catalog.”

Jeezy The Snowman is f$%&ing up the ATL forecast for the summer and bringing nothing but cold fronts so you better expect a 'Cold Summer' from his U.S.D.A. boys. The County Hound EP
Cashis

Interscope/Shady Records' newest imported talent goes by the name of Ca$his and he's ready for his close-up...but first, Shady Records is testing the waters with this special 8-track EP, making 'The County Hound EP' one of the first full-length EPs in recent memory. With the mixtape somewhat disintegrating since DJ Drama & Don Cannon's bust, although Interscope has been known to go the mixtape route to help promote their new artists, they opt instead to go for the rarely-used EP format to help introduce Cashis to the world. Originally introducing himself to the world on Eminem's 'The Re-Up' CD, Cashis is back with eight all-new bangers that will let you know why Shady Records decided Cashis was a part of their future.

Mixtape Inc.
The Mixtape Documentary
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Nearly five years in the making, 'Mixtape Inc.' is the product of Walter Bell, a New York City documentarian whose passion for mixtapes and skills with the film reel led to this idea for a documentary. Taking you behind-the-scenes of the mixtape game, this documentary couldn't come at a funnier time for mixtapes. With the recent arrest of DJ Drama and Don Cannon, this DVD documentary's significance is heightened incredibly in the current mixtape climate.

DESCRIPTION FROM THE PRODUCER: There’s a battle brewing with the Mixtape DJs, Performers, Retailers and Buyers on one side and the multi-billion dollar record labels and copyright infringement authorities (RIAA) on the other. Mixtapes have become an important and hot part of the Hip-Hop culture, revolutionized the Hip-Hop music industry and changed the way we hear and buy Hip-Hop music. The financial stakes are extremely high. These entrepreneurial compilations are now the root of a new power struggle, the urban streets of America vs. the traditional corporate music industry.
